The armed robbery at the Esso petrol station on Charminster Road, took place at 2.50am.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "It was reported that a man, wearing a black hooded top, grey tracksuit bottoms and a black scarf around his face, entered the shop, threatened staff with a hand gun and stole a quantity of cash.
"No injuries were sustained during the incident.
"Officers are now making enquiries and ask anyone with information, or who saw a man matching the offender’s description, to contact them quoting incident number 7:18."
A PCSO from Charminster and Queens Park Neighbourhood Policing Team said the man is described as white and between 5ft6in and 5ft9in tall.
Police left the scene and reopened the forecourt at 7.30am.
One eyewitness said there were three police cars at the 24-hour petrol station, which was taped off.
A member of staff at the other Esso petrol station on the same road, who asked not to be named, said police informed him of the robbery shortly after it happened and advised him to close the door and keep himself safe.
"It's the first time I've heard something like that happening," he said.
