A NEW leader has been elected for North Dorset District Council.
Cllr Graham Carr-Jones was elected at full council on Friday, July 29, and he appointed Cllr David Walsh as his deputy leader at the meeting.
His new cabinet were announced later that afternoon.
Cllr Carr-Jones said: “It is an honour to be elected Leader of North Dorset District Council. I’m really looking forward to taking on this new role.
“I would like to thank Deborah Croney for all the hard work and commitment she has given in her time as leader and for the help and support she has given me as her deputy in making sure I am well prepared for the task ahead.”
Outgoing leader Cllr Deborah Croney said: “I have been extremely fortunate to serve as leader and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.”
