TODAY we pick up where we left off yesterday, with no apologies for doing so.
On the subject of positivity and confidence, in business, investors and on the high street.
It follows yesterday’s highly successful forum at Bournemouth University by the Dorset Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
As a media organisation our message at the event, attended by 150 businesses, was that we all need to talk up the local economy.
Careless talk costs confidence.
This means accentuating the positive and highlighting good new stories, such as the cruise ships for Poole and the latest unemployment figures.
It means looking for the positive angle and engaging even more, in print, in person and online. And means businesses being even more aware of the stories they have to tell.
What it doesn’t mean is not reporting difficult stories or burying them, as some might suggest.
That would be disingenuous or even dishonest.
This is a marathon, not a sprint. Post June 23, we are all in this for the long haul.
