WOULD-be thieves raided a Bournemouth toy shop as part of a bid to steal jewellery, police believe.

The offenders broke into the Build-A-Bear Workshop in Commercial Road at 10.30pm on Sunday, September 4.

They made their way in through the rooftop of the building.

Nothing was stolen from the shop.

Detective Constable Christian Bryant, of Bournemouth police, said: “It is highly likely that the offenders would have climbed onto other neighbouring commercial properties in the area.

“I believe that there was an attempt to gain access to the adjacent building where Warren James jewellers are located."

DC Bryant called for anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area at the time of the incident to speak to officers.

Those with information are asked to contact the force via dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting incident number 4:370.
