POLICE are hunting an offender who attacked a man in the street in broad daylight leaving him with facial injuries.

Officers were called to Cardigan Road in Winton, Bournemouth at 1.30pm today to reports that a local man in his 40s had been hit on the back of the head, causing him to fall to the pavement.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and police have now launched an appeal to trace his attacker.

He is described as white, in his mid 20s and with dark hair. He is thought to have run off in the direction of Waterloo Road, then possibly into Parker Road.
