EMERGENCY services were called to a fire that claimed the life of a dog and destroyed three caravans and a car in Hurn in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Dorset Police were contacted just after 2.35am by South Western Ambulance Service about the incident in Mount Pleasant Touring Park in Matchams Lane. Seven emergency calls were made with reports of the incident.
Crews of firefighters from Christchurch and Springbourne attended the scene and extinguished the fire using one main jet, two hoses and two compressed air foam hoses.

A police spokesperson said that three touring caravans and a car were alight, while several other caravans had minor damage along with another car. They also confirmed that a dog died as a result of the incident.
No people were believed to be in the caravans when the fire service were contacted, but one woman is believed to have been treated by the ambulance service for some burns.
The Fire Victim Support Unit from Christchurch attended the scene which is crewed by Red Cross Volunteers.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service, which is not believed to be suspicious.
