CHERRIES goalkeeper Mark Travers scored the winning goal for loan club Weymouth in their 3-2 victory at Bishop’s Stortford today.
The young stopper, who agreed a six-month loan deal with the Terras at the start of July, struck the ball from inside his own half to give the Southern Premier League outfit a dramatic victory.

A Republic of Ireland youth international, Travers was on his senior debut for Weymouth, who are managed by Cherries under-21 assistant Mark Molesley.
He signed for Cherries in July 2016 having impressed during a trial period and is a member of the club's under-21 set-up.
Speaking to the Weymouth website about the strike, Travers said: "It’s my first ever goal and, with my debut for Weymouth, it’s a plus to get the winner. I didn’t think I’d be saying that at the start of the day!
“I had a look up first time and saw the goalkeeper on about his 18-yard box.
“I had another think about it and said ‘right I’ll give it a go’. I ended up hitting it quite well and it ended up going in, so I was pleased.”
