THREE Bournemouth companies are celebrating after being named among the best digital businesses in the south.
Media Lounge and Createful came away with trophies from the Wirehive 100 awards, for their work with an online wedding shop and Bournemouth Air Festival respectively.
Meanwhile, Redweb maintained its top spot in the Wirehive 100 league table of top digital firms in the south outside London.
Media Lounge took the eCommerce of the Year title for the second year running, for its work for the wedding shop Love & Lilah.
The judges praised a “great, aesthetically pleasing site” that was “well-built and designed with some great integrations”.
Andy Crathorne, managing director at the Christchurch Road-based business, said: “It’s a real honour for us to win this award not once, but twice in consecutive years. The entire team here at Media Lounge works tremendously hard, and this award is testament to their dedication and commitment to supporting our clients.”
Createful, based in Holdenhurst Road, collected the Best User Experience for its work with Bournemouth Air Festival.
The judges said the site was “a great example of designing for a well-understood audience with clarity and simplicity in task completion and well-pitched design treatment”. It said the site “doesn’t feel corporate or inaccessible and sells the event successfully”.
Kriss Bennett, founder and managing director at Createful, said: “To have won this award for our work at such a fantastic, high-profile event is a testament to all our team. We are hugely proud to have delivered a site which reflects the prestigious nature of the Air Festival, as well as providing visitors with a seamless experience.”
Redweb, in Holdenhurst Road, kept its top spot in the Wirehive 100 for a third year.
Its 20 years of marketing and building websites make it one of Bournemouth’s longest-established digital companies
Chief executive Luke Platt said: “Having topped the Wirehive 100 league table in 2015 and 2016, we are ecstatic to be named number one for the third time.
“The accolade is a testament to the hard work and high standard of digital delivery that our team continues to produce.”
The awards have become one of the biggest celebrations of digital excellence in the south outside London. They were founded in 2012, the same year as the cloud consultancy Wirehive, by Robert Belgrave and his two business partners.
This year’s prizes were handed out at the O2 Guildhall in Southampton.
