A LATE night brawl erupted at Poole's Lighthouse Theatre, following a production of the musical Thoroughly Modern Millie and a packed Elvis tribute concert.
Dorset Police, who were called to the Kingland Road venue on Thursday night, made four arrests after violence broke out in the post-show bar.
One person, a 56-year-old, was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital after suffering facial cuts.
Earlier in the evening hundreds of fans had watched critically-acclaimed Elvis impersonator Shawn Klush, who is on his Elvis World Tour.
Meanwhile, theatre fans had also enjoyed a performance of Thoroughly Modern Mille, the musical based on the Academy Award-winning film starring Julie Andrews.
Coronation Street and Emmerdale star Hayley Tammadon took the lead role in the Poole production, which is set at the height of the Jazz Age in New York City and is described as an 'hilarious musical comedy'.
It remains unclear what sparked the fracas, but Lighthouse staff have confirmed theatre visitors were involved.
Lighthouse Theatre spokesman Susie Carver explained: "A small isolated incident broke out at the end of the evening between visitors to the theatre.
"Security was on hand and our staff dealt with things swiftly and efficiently, administering first aid where required and calling police and ambulance to the scene.
"Nobody else was involved in the incident and this morning we are helping police officers with their investigation and examining our CCTV footage."
Dorset Police told the Echo officers were called at 10.40pm, amid reports of "a group of people fighting in the bar area."
Paramedics also attended the scene.
Susie said: "Fortunately incidents of this nature are extremely rare at Lighthouse and it is unfortunate to be commenting on this today, when Lighthouse is celebrating winning the South West Community Benefit Award at last night’s RICS Awards."
Police confirm a 55-year-old man from Lytchett Minster was arrested on suspicion of assault; a 19-year-old woman from Lytchett Minster was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer; a 52-year-old woman from Lytchett Minster was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer; and a 19-year-old from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of affray and assaulting a police officer.
As the Echo went to press all four were assisting officers with their enquiries.
