CHRISTCHURCH’S streets will be awash with colour when the town’s annual carnival returns later this month.
The popular event will see fun for all the family on Saturday, August 18 and Sunday, August 19.
It is organised by the Christchurch Carnival Committee which has been in existence for more than 100 years.
On the Saturday, there will be fun on the Quay from 10am with live music, rides, games, cuisine from around the world, children’s entertainment, a beer tent and cream teas.
A spectacular firework display will bring the day to a close at 9.30pm.
Then on the Sunday, there will be more fun for all the family on the Quay between 11am and 4pm.
The main highlight will be the carnival parade which takes place between 1pm and 3pm.
Starting at Two Riversmeeet Leisure Centre, the procession will make its way along Castle Street to the High Street, before travelling along Sopers Lane and coming to an end at The Quomps.
