A DORSET beauty spot has been named one of the most romantic places in the country.
Durdle Door came fourth in a survey of places which put people in the mood for love, behind the Isle of Skye’s fairy pools, Grasmere in the Lake District and the city of Bath.
The survey was commissioned by publishers Mills & Boon.
People were also asked for the favourite romantic places abroad, with Paris topping the list, followed by Santorini in Greece, and Venice.
Last year the beauty spot hit the headlines after an amateur photographer inadvertently snapped a man proposing to his girlfriend.
Images were shared across social media and the happy couple were eventually revealed as Harry Rolph, originally from Wimborne, and Eleni Kostantaki. The happy couple announced that Eleni had said ‘yes’ to Harry’s proposal.
