THE popular Christchurch carnival will take place this weekend.
The event has been a staple of the town's calendar for more than 100 years, with this year's carnival set to be another hit.
On Saturday, there will be live music, a fun fair, food stalls, beer tent and traders at Christchurch Quay, with an impressive free firework display in the evening.
The parade, themed as 'Musicals' this year, will take place on Sunday afternoon, with prizes for best float and Carnival star.
The parade will leave Two Riversmeet Leisure Centre around 1pm on Sunday and head towards the quay through the town centre.
