Part of the A35 Christchurch bypass was closed earlier due to a car fire.
The fire involved a saloon car and was reported to the fire service at 11.48am.
It happened near the Somerford Roundabout.
One crew from Christchurch attended.
Firefighters used two hoses and reel jets to extinguish the fire.
Police were called to the scene by the fire service at 11.52am.
Officers closed the road at the junction of Salisbury Road.
It was reopened at around 12.15pm.
The local authority has been made aware due to debris on the road.
