A MAN has been left with a serious head injury following an altercation outside a bar in Bournemouth in the early hours of this morning.
The incident happened outside the Revolution Bournemouth bar in Old Christchurch Road at around 3am.
The victim, a 28-year-old man, had gone to intervene during the altercation when he was punched in the head.
He was taken to hospital for treatment.
A man aged in his 20s from Poole was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and is assisting police with their enquiries.
Detective Constable Dave Pearce, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We are carrying out a number of enquiries into this incident and I am keen to hear from anyone with information that can assist our investigation.
“I understand there were a number of people outside Revolution around the time of the altercation and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed it to contact us.”
