A VERY special Christmas delivery made an appearance at Poole Hospital just after 12am yesterday.
Idris Wetherall-Goodliffe was born at 16 minutes past midnight to mum Fern. The tot, who weighed nine pounds and three ounces, was one of 11 babies born at the hospital on Christmas Day.
Fern, who lives in Poole, said: “He was actually due on the 16th, so he was a bit late.
“He’s my first baby and they do often seem to arrive a little bit late.”
Idris, named for the Welsh mountain, was initially due to be born at home.
Fern thanked home birth team Eden, as well as staff at Poole Hospital.
“Everyone was just wonderful,” she said.
“We’re very glad to be back home.”
Midwives at the hospital faced an extremely busy day on December 25. Nicola Wilkins was the last to give birth at 5.05pm. Her son Henry, a brother to Amelia, weighs 8lb 4oz.
Two babies were also born at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital on Christmas Eve.
