BLESSED with the daftest name since names began, massively rated newcomers Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong celebrate the release of their debut single, Lucio Starts Fire, this week by accepting the invitation to support Babyshambles on tour.
The London-based band, who signed their record deal after just three gigs, will now play the Bournemouth International Centre on November 26.
Their single, already a fixture on industry buzz lists, should see chart action by the end of the week and confirm Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong as indie's latest great white hopes.
"I want our music to be inclusive," says Joe, a former actor - he appeared in Nathan Barley and Peep Show.
"The goal is to have a nine-year-old girl and and 80-year-old man in a different country dancing at the same time. There doesn't need to be a dichotomy between what cool kids like and what little kids like. I just want to make people kiss."
Very commendable, Joe. Aiding his mission to unite the world are Panda (bass), Tom Dougall (guitar), Dom O'Dare (guitar) and Bummer Jong (drums).
