A MOTORIST escaped serious injury after she apparently hit a Belisha beacon at a pedestrian crossing and flipped her car onto its roof yesterday.
The accident, which did not involve any other vehicle, happened on Haven Road, close to the junction of Ravine Road, Canford Cliffs, Poole.
Dorset Police, firefighters and paramedics attended the scene, and the woman driver, who had been in the car on her own at the time of the accident, was treated then taken on to hospital.
Police told the Echo her injuries were not thought to be serious in nature.
Because the car had overturned the fire service was required to extract the woman.The accident happened around 11.45am.
Haven Road was closed to all through traffic while the emergency services were at the scene. The car was eventually recovered and the road reopened at 2pm.
