HAVING propelled Blow Up to the dizzy heights of in-crowd cool in the 1990s, toured with Blur and won the mod's nod from Paul Weller, Andy Lewis knows about getting it just right. Which is exactly why his second album is a neatly-tailored, three-button peach!
From the blistering northern soul-invoking stomper, Are You Trying To Be Lonely?, on which he duets with Weller, through the deadpan psyche-soul of Tell Me Once Again You Love Me, to the 70s soul flavours of Don't Know Why You Do It, Lewis conducts a sonic tour of hipster hang outs and scenester haunts. The casual listener may find it a little too slavish in places, but you know there's a record collection as impeccable as the man's dress sense behind this. Resistance is futile.
