Chicken skins stuffed with needles and toothpicks found in Alderholt

RSPCA inspectors are hunting for the person responsible after the chicken skins were discovered tied with fishing line in an alleyway between Oak Road and Earlwood Drive, Alderholt. The find was made at 11.45am on Saturday, March 30.

However, it is not the first time tampered-with chicken has been found in the village.

Inspector Carter said: "It is concerning that someone deliberately put needles and toothpicks in chicken skin which had been wrapped in wire and left them in a public area.

“I’m told this is not not the first time this has happened in this area so we are issuing a warning to dog owners to be careful when using this route.

“I also hope to send a message to whoever is doing this to warn them they could cause injury, or even death, to a pet or wild animal and could face prosecution as a result.

"Dogs are naturally very curious animals and are likely to be drawn to any food on the floor. We urge dog-walkers to be cautious when walking in the area and to keep a close eye on their dogs while out walking.

"If you believe your dog has ingested something harmful, contact your vets immediately and follow any advice that they give you.
