FIVE flats schemes will be considered at Monday night's Bournemouth council planning board meeting.
Forty flats are planned above Argos in Christchurch Road, Boscombe. The revised scheme involves demolishing part of the existing building, alterations, a three- to four -storey extension and conversion of the first and second floors. An earlier application was refused after planning board vice-chairman Ron Whittaker described the proposed flats as "little boxes".
Planning inspector Ken Barton dismissed the application on appeal, expressing concerns that the proposed rubbish and recycling store would be too close to residents' windows and the amount of amenity space was "barely adequate".
There have been no objections to the new plans for the site.
Thirty-six apartments are planned at Branksome Wood Road. The split-level development, up to seven storeys high, involves bulldozing two existing buildings on the site.
Thirty of the flats being planned are two-bedroom and six one-bed units are proposed.
Forty-four objectors have voiced concern over the height of the building, loss of trees and shrubs, scale of the development and traffic and parking issues.
Two blocks totalling 13 flats are being planned for Lowther Road in Charminster, ranging in height to three storeys.
Thirty-five letters of objection have been received citing over-development, increased traffic and loss of privacy among concerns.
Plans to build a three-storey block of eight flats at Foxholes Road have been opposed by 12 local residents.
Three letters of objection and a 24-name petition have been received by the council over plans to build a three to four storey building of eight flats at The Clock Garage in Ringwood Road.
