Fire crews from Ferndown, Springbourne, Redhill and Christchurch were called to Bournemouth Airport on Monday after reports of flames in the cockpit of an aircraft coming into land at Hurn.
Firefighters were stood down just before 3.20pm after assurances from aircrew that fumes in the cockpit of the BAC 111 had not ignited. No passengers were on board the military aircraft and no-one was hurt.
