A WOMAN chased a burglar down the street after discovering him in her home.
The burglar was disturbed just after 9am on Tuesday 9 October by a woman returning to her house in Princess Road, near County Gates in Poole.
The woman, who was coming in from work, chased the man, who ran off with stolen items.
Detective Constable John Oldfield of Poole CID, said: "The plucky housewife chased after the burglar as he ran off through neighbouring gardens but she lost sight of him at the junction of Princess Road and Wessex Way.
"A witness saw the man crossing over the Frizzell roundabout. He was carrying a distinctive two-tone pink coloured child's rucksack that had been stolen, together with a Dell laptop computer an iPod and a Samsung digital camera.
"The victim has helped to prepare an e-fit of the burglar and I'm hoping that anyone who recognises the man will contact the police urgently and in total confidence."
The man police are looking for is white, 28 to 32-years-old, 6ft 2ins tall and of broad build.
"He was wearing a black woolly hat patterned with white, yellow and green zipzags, a bulky black waterproof jacket with a large collar and dark trousers," said DC Oldfield.
DC Oldfield added: "I'm keen to hear from anyone who was in the Princess Road, Frizzell roundabout area and who saw a man of this description possibly carrying the distinctive pink rucksack."
