A MAN has been convicted of a series of failings at a Poole house in multiple occupation (HMO).
Mahmut Gilgil, of Blandford Road, committed a series of offences under the Housing Act.
The defendant was the owner of a property above a kebab shop at 51 Blandford Road when the breaches were carried out on dates between April and May last year.
Gilgil, 42, was convicted of 12 offences at Poole Magistrates' Court last week. He failed to display his details, repair a holed plaster board to the required 30-minute fire resistant standard, clear vegetation from the gutters, reconnect a rainwater downpipe and provide a gas safety certificate for a flat.
Ill-fitting lino was not replaced and a shower room light was not repaired.
In addition, Gilgil failed to repair loose, missing and slipped slates on the roof, replace missing furniture and apply draught proofing. Defective windows were also evident inside the property.
The defendant had denied all the charges. A further 12 counts were dismissed when prosecutors offered no evidence.
He was fined £2,750 and ordered to to pay a £30 surcharge and £3,425 costs.
