Chicago, Pavilion Theatre, Bournemouth

SASSY, sexy, sizzling, sensational! No number of superlatives could truly capture just how brilliant, how awe-inspiring this show is.

This immaculate production- which ends in Bournemouth on Saturday, is polished to gleaming perfection after 14 months on tour, but is as fresh, dynamic and vibrant as its opening night.

The fabulous on stage orchestra even interact with the performers subtly enforcing the fun that sparkles in Kander and Ebbs lyrics.

This darkly seductive tale, of murder, adultery, lust, greed and desire for notoriety, whatever the cost, set in 1920's Chicago, is perfectly cast with Ian Kelsey capturing the devious charm of sleazy lawyer Billy Flynn.

The paradoxically sweet yet sinful Roxie Hart (Haley Flaherty) and her feisty top dog prison mate Velma Kelly (Dawn Spence) are vividly and wickedly brought to life by these incredibly talented performers who sing and dance their socks off.

Scenery is minimal, the costumes all black and yet you feel as if your senses have been be-dazzled by a kaleidoscope of colour, such is the glamour and fun that radiates from this show.

From the jaw-dropping opener All That Jazz to the black comedy of Cell Block Tango to the pathetically humorous Mr Cellophane, this show rocks!
