THIS year’s New Forest Show is extra special for six-year-old Skye Tucker as she brought members of her self-named flock of Dutch Spotted Sheep to the event for the first time.
The sheep, which make up “Skye’s Flock”, are normally found in West Sussex but have travelled to the popular event at New Park, Brockenhurst.
While the show rings and animal tents continued to draw big crowds, the National Vegetable Championship provided fierce competition in the flower area at the northern edge of the site.
Yesterday saw Defra minister Lord Gardiner visit the event and discuss the important contribution Hampshire food producers make to the national and local economy. After a damp opening day, the show enjoyed sunny spells yesterday and the weather is expected to remain fair today on Ladies Day as the show comes to a close for another year.
