Bowling For Soup + Bloodhound Gang, Solent Hall, BIC
ZEBRAHEAD and Army of Freshers were the support acts given the task of warming up the teens and their parents that made up the majority of the audience. By the time the Bloodhound Gang took to the stage there was already a crowd of sweaty fans rammed against the barrier.
Bloodhound Gang played a catalogue of songs including their ultimate crowd pleasers Chasey Lane and Bad Touch. Relying on projected images and controversy to impress the crowd, the band criticised the smoking ban and actively encouraged the children to spark up inside. They made an unforgivably racist comment about the Second World War and the Germans - a statement that disturbingly received cheers.
Thankfully it wasn't long until Bowling for Soup came onstage. Much to the audience's delight, they played classics such as Punk Rock 101, High School Never Ends, Girl All the Bad Guys Want and 1985.
Bowling for Soup played with such infectious passion and fun that even the frostier members of the audience were dancing along, forgetting the horror that was the Bloodhound Gang with each new song.
