ONE school in Dorset has been named three times running on the list of top education providers.
Twynham School in Christchurch has been classed as an outstanding school following its last three Ofsted inspections.
Her Majesty's Chief Inspector's annual report lists the top schools every year and schools can only make the list if they were inspected the previous year.
Twynham is the only school in the county to make it on to the list three years running.
Head teacher Terry Fish said: "Quite a few other schools have been on the list twice but we were the only one to be on it three times so it is something quite special.
"This is a wonderful recognition of the hard work and dedication of the staff, students, governors and parents of the Twynham community and I feel very honoured indeed to be part of this highly successful school.
"We have something very special indeed at Twynham and our students are a delight to be with."
He added that the school is oversubscribed in all year groups and that students had achieved record GCSE and A-level results.
Chair of the governors Paula Hunt said: "It is very unusual for a school to have been named three times in the list and this demonstrates the exceptionally high quality provision over more than 10 years. I congratulate the staff both past and present for making Twynham the outstanding school that it is today."
The school has a sixth form open evening on Thursday, November 8 and it will start at 6.30pm with a talk by the head teacher and some sixth form students in the school hall.
