A NEW “concierge” service is being launched by a company which says it is aiming to redefine the future of care at home.
Liberty Private Care says the “high end” service, to be launched next month, will offer a service “similar to a top hotel”.
It says it will bridge the gap between nursing and social care, offering help for anyone with physical, sensory or mental health problems.
Services include personal care, health care, wheelchair-accessible transport, household assistance and lifts to medical and social appointments.
Christchurch-based Liberty Private Care is run by award-winning care and health professionals Andrew and Fiona Key.
Andrew Key, Liberty Private Care’s managing director, said: “Liberty Private Care has the overriding aim of helping our clients and their families live as full and independent lives as possible.
“Our clients expect the highest standards in all aspects of our work and in the way we conduct ourselves.
“Our desire to build a business built on this ethos, setting a benchmark as leaders in the private care sector, is supported by more than 50 combined years of professional experience and expertise, having won and been nominated for awards and gaining a top level professional care accreditation such as the Six Steps End of Life Partnership.”
He said the firm was offering “a concierge style service similar to a top hotel, releasing you from some of the day-to-day stresses of managing health and social care”.
The service will initially cover a patch from Poole to Lymington and north to Ringwood and will cost from £30 an hour.
It will cover tasks such as administering medication, preparing meals, shopping, health monitoring, household chores and private transport.
Its wheelchair-accessible vehicle will take clients to health appointments, with carers providing support throughout the appointment, and return them home, providing feedback to the family, a GP or another health professional if required.
Transport will also be provided to social appointments including family events, visits to friends and trips to take part in hobbies and interests. The carer can stay with the client to discreetly ensure their health and social needs are looked after.
Nursing tasks provided by the service range from monitoring heart rate and breathing to administering medication. Staff are qualified to at least NVQ level 2 and are the most highly paid in the area, the company says.
Clients and families can access care records in real time to ensure care is being delivered the way it should.
The company is working with Bournemouth and Poole hospitals, Dementia UK, Headway, Multiple Sclerosis Society, Stroke Association, Parkinsons UK and the Azheimer’s Society to ensure the latest technology, techniques and support are used.
