WESSEX volleyball star Dan Hunter starred for England's Junior Men's team at the NEVZA tournament in Norway.
The Poole Grammar School Sixth former was thrilled to get selected for the event and went on to perform well.
He said: "My ambition is to be part of the squad for the 2012 Olympics so it is important for me to have these opportunities."
The tournament saw the young England team up against tough opposition from Sweden, Denmark, Iceland and hosts Norway.
Hunter was named "most valuable player" in the 3-2 defeat against Sweden before England were also beaten by Denmark and Norway.
The team did salvage some pride by winning their final match 3-0 against Iceland.
