A “NEGLECTED and outdated” former clubhouse at Bournemouth Airport has been turned into a terminal for executive jets.
The former Bournemouth Flying Club bar and cafe dates from World War II and has been refurbished as the XLR Executive Jet Terminal by Poole-based builder Greendale Construction.
The 15-week project was carried out by the builder’s small works division for Regional City Airports, a subsidiary of the Rigby Group.
The XLR Lounge will process private jet customers and provide pilots and crew with refreshment and conference room facilities
Neil Drissel, small works contracts manager, Greendale Construction, said: “This has been a challenging but very rewarding project for the small works team and all those involved. What was once a neglected and outdated building has been transformed into a stylish and modern facility.”
