Bournemouth remain unbeaten in Slazenger Womens Hockey League National South, despite having their prospects of a fifth win in seven games denied them in the closing stages.
They led Maidstone 2-1 with eight minutes left at Chapel Gate, but were undone by a penalty corner equaliser.
Third-placed Bournemouth were chasing the game initially - Kirsty Hotson firing Maidstone into a ninth-minute lead.
But Kathy James equalised soon after and, when Di Jeffrey potted a short corner midway through the first half, Bournemouth were on course to win.
But that late Maidstone penalty corner denied them the chance to close the gap on Staines and Swansea at the top.
- Bournemouth's men took the lead three times in their Hampshire/Surrey Regional League visit to newly-promoted Yateley, but each time the hosts equalised to force a 3-3 draw.
A combination of a very high press by Yateley and poor ball retention by Bournemouth led to a game of counter attacking goals by the visitors and and set piece conversions from the hosts.
Bournemouth forced three penalty corners in the opening minutes and went ahead through Henry Harrison. The lead lasted barely 90 seconds, with Matt Cresey replying.
A foul on Will Eveleigh led to Andy Harms restoring Bournemouth's lead, but Yateley equalised again with a penalty stroke by Chris Makin on the stroke of half-time.
Just three minutes after the restart Bournemouth were 3-2 up through Jack Betenson, who finished off a move involving Pete Larcombe, but Yateley's constant pressure paid off with Rob Evans squaring affairs at 3-3 after a second half of one-way traffic.
