A MAN caught with spice, cannabis and heroin on dates over the course of just a month and a half has been spared a prison sentence.

Mustafa Saleh, of Waverley Road in Bournemouth, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court this week to admit a spate of offences.

On April 20, he stole two pairs of sunglasses from Specsavers in Bournemouth. On the same date, he had spice and cannabis in his possession.

He failed to appear for a scheduled court date on May 10.

The following day, May 11, he was found with heroin. Days later, on May 21, he was found to have cannabis in Boscombe Spa Road.

He then didn't turn up to court on May 28, or again on June 7. On July 6, he stole a wallet and cash from an address in Heathcote Road.

Then, on dates between September and early October, he carried out a series of thefts at WHSmith at the railway station in Leicester.

Between September 5 and October 4, he stole a bluetooth speaker, 14 cans of Red Bull and some Dairy Milk chocolate.

Saleh admitted nine counts of theft, four counts of possessing drugs and three counts of failing to surrender to custody.

He was sentenced to a community order, under which he must comply with a six-week electronically-monitored curfew and a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement.

He was also ordered to pay compensation to some of his victims.
