A CHRISTCHURCH woman is celebrating after scooping over £25,000 in a radio competition to guess the name of the winning song.
Chris Fitzpatrick won £25,500 on Wave 105's Secret Song competition after correctly guessing the song title Change by Tears for Fears.
Having never won anything before, she was shocked when teatime presenter Andy Jackson announced live on air that she was the winner of the cash prize.
She said: "I was so pleased to have got through to the station that when Andy asked me to repeat my answer I just assumed he hadn't heard me properly the first time.
"However, when he asked me to repeat it for a third time, my voice began to tremble with nerves and excitement but nothing could have prepared me for Andy telling me I had won.
"To say I was completely stunned is a bit of an understatement."
Wave 105 presenter Andy Jackson said: "I love it when the prize mounts up as you can sense the tension in the studio increasing every time a listener tries to guess the song and because it was the biggest prize we have ever given out, it was even more exciting.
"It was great to hand the money over to such an enthusiastic listener and Chris really deserves it."
Chris is planning on spending her winnings on some home refurbishment and an exotic holiday in the New Year.
