CHERRIES manager Kevin Bond has scotched rumours linking him with a return to former club Norwich City.

Unconfirmed reports suggested Bond could be in the frame to reunite with Glenn Roeder at Carrow Road.

Roeder, who was this week unveiled as Peter Grant's successor at the Championship strugglers, is in the process of appointing his backroom staff.

And having employed Bond as his assistant during his time as manager at Newcastle, the Cherries boss was touted as being among Roeder's possible targets.

But Bond, who made 161 appearances for the Canaries between 1974 and 1981, was quick to dismiss the specul-ation when quizzed by the Daily Echo.

"I haven't heard anything about that situation," said Bond, who transferred his apprenticeship from Cherries to Norwich to follow his father John to East Anglia.

"I spent a lot of time at Norwich and have a great affinity for the place and the club. It is a wonderful football club.

"But there is no truth in that rumour and all I would do is wish Glenn Roeder the best of luck."
