SHE may have her knockers (if you'll pardon the pun!), but one thing that can't be denied is that former glamour model Katie Price (aka Jordan) is now one of the richest women in Britain.

Be it a book or a bra, everything she puts her name to becomes an instant best-seller, it seems.

I can't help but admire what she's achieved in such a short space of time so I jumped at the chance to interview the 29-year-old mega-brand millionaire.

Now I've not had much luck trying to speak to Katie in the past who, at the time of writing, was due to arrive in Bournemouth later today for a book signing session at Waterstones in Castlepoint.

Last time she'd had to cancel a few hours before deadline because she was suffering from exhaustion as she was then heavily pregnant with her daughter.

This time I was promised a 10-minute phone conversation subject to signing a fairly restrictive contract - the interview and photographs must only be accompanied with positive text/captions/headings etc etc.

But then I was informed that she'd lost her voice so I would have to settle for a Q&A session via email instead. (The answers arrived literally at the 11th hour - see panel!) I couldn't help but wonder whether it was because she just doesn't have time for the regional press - it's not as if she needs the publicity anyway.

Her latest novel Crystal (in which the eponymous heroine battles bad boyfriends to win fame in a girl band), has apparently rocked the literary world by outselling the entire Booker Prize shortlist.

It just goes to prove you can never underestimate this former Page Three glamour model who spent her time falling out of clubs and going out with singers Dane Bowers and Gareth Gates and footballer Dwight Yorke.

She went on to fall in love with Peter Andre in 2004's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and they now live together in a huge house in Dorking, Surrey with their children Junior, Princess and Harvey - Dwight Yorke's son.

But it's not just men Katie appeals to. Last year she beat JK Rowling and the Body Shop founder Anita Roddick to be named most inspirational businesswoman.

Her perfume (Stunning) was a sell-out, so were her two autobiographies.

She has also ghost written two novels and a series of children's books - Perfect Ponies - and produced a keep-fit DVD.

So what is it that women like about her?

Perhaps it's her ability to combine being an international TV star, model, author, businesswoman, singer, wife and mother of three or her lack of self pity in having to care for her son Harvey who suffers with autism and blindness.

Or maybe it's her I don't care what people think' attitude. She quite unabashed about her artificial assets too.

Even though Pete says he would prefer her to have a more "natural" shape she has no intention of changing just to keep him happy and is quoted as saying: "I don't like natural. If he wanted natural he shouldn't have married me!"

So what will Katie do next?

"I have more lingerie on the way, I have my make-up range next year, my bedding range, my next autobiography, more children's books, the list goes on and of course world domination!"

And I don't think she's kidding either. You have been warned!

  • Katie Price will be at Waterstones at Castlepoint in Bournemouth from 5 until 6pm tomorrow (Friday). Crystal is now available nationwide in paperback priced £6.99.

What she said (eventually) Question: Sorry to hear you're not well Katie. Do you think you will make the book signing? It sounds as though you've got a lot on your plate. How do you cope with being an international TV star, columnist, agony aunt, author, actress, businesswoman, wife and mother of three?

A: Thanks, I've lost my voice, but I'll be there, I love meeting fans, and as I had to cancel this signing before on my doctor's advice, when I was heavily pregnant, there's no way that I won't make it this time.

How do I cope? I'm very lucky to have a great job, and I love being so busy, I want to conquer the world.

Q: How is the family? What does Harvey and Junior make of Princess? Is it nice to have a daughter at last? Is she a good baby? Is Pete a hands-on dad?

A: The family are all well, and with Peter and I having the same management it means that we can ensure we get quality time with the kids, and are home to put them to bed.

Q: I don't know if I should be telling you this but my husband is a big fan of yours. He knew you were coming to Bournemouth before I did! Do you still enjoy the attention or has it become a bit of a pain?

A: I love meeting all my fans, and it's never a pain, not at all. And say thank you to your husband. Is he going to come down to have a book signed?!

Q: Having seen some recent photos of you it looks as though you've got your figure back remarkably quickly. How did you do it?

A: I'm very lucky, I have a good metabolism, and I follow my juicing programme as well.

Q: Now about the book. How long did it take to write? When do you find time to write it? Where did you get your inspiration for the storyline?

A: From coming up with the idea to publication was about six months. And it's like anything else I do, it gets put into my schedule like any other job.

Q: Do you have any regrets about your life so far? Do you have any worries? What, if anything, would keep you lying awake at nights?

A: The only regret I have is Eurovision!

Q: You seem to be able to turn your hands to most things? What's next for Katie Price? How would you like to be remembered?

A: I have a more lingerie on the way, I have my make-up range next year, my bedding range, my next autobiography, more children's books, the list goes on - oh and of course world domination!
