CHRISTCHURCH-based band State of Undress are set to really get the festive season under way with the release of their first Christmas EP Christmas Round Ours which will be released next month.

They will be playing all the songs on the EP at their special seasonal concert at the Tivoli Theatre in Wimborne on Sunday, December 9. The concert will also feature some of their other, distinctive original music put into a Christmas context plus a few festive favourites too.

Charlie Rose, lead singer and one of the writers for State of Undress said: Christmas Round Ours is a really fun, upbeat song about the mayhem and madness of a typical family Christmas but it's about the magic of this special time of year as well.

"Although the lyrics are very much about our own Christmas experience - missing the last post, some of our more colourful relatives, packing presents at 4am - we think loads of other people will relate to it. We can't be the only ones this disorganised, can we?!"

Alan Rose, guitarist and co-writer continued: "The EP has five tracks - all of which we'll be playing at the Tivoli concert. It includes a cover of The Pogues' Fairy Tale of New York.

"We had a great response to this when we performed it live last year so we hope that carries over to the recorded version. It's such a brilliant song and I think the fact that Charlie and I are husband and wife adds to the fun of it!"

State of Undress play The Tivoli Theatre, Wimborne on Sunday, December 9, at 7.30pm. The band say they will award prizes to the most seasonally-dressed audience members. There is also a State of Undress coach going from Walkford to Wimborne. Go to stateofundress.com for further information.
