THE headteacher of Poole Grammar School has announced he will leave his position at the end of the school year.
Andy Baker, who started teaching at the Gravel Hill school in 1993, said he is moving on after 40 years in teaching.
In a letter to parents he said: “The school has changed significantly, but has remained a really positive environment to work and study in.
“I feel privileged to have been involved in the care and education of so many young people during my time at the school, and as a teacher one hopes to have had a positive impact on a good proportion of them.”
Mr Baker added: “The contact with intelligent young people is the aspect of the job that I will miss most.”
Mr Baker took up the post of headteacher in the summer of 2014, replacing Ian Carter.
He said a new head will be recruited by the governors over the next few months and will start their job in September 2020.
