ARE the next Fratellis in your classroom? Do tomorrow's Arctic Monkeys rehearse in your assembly hall? If you're in a school rock band then Xfm wants to hear from you.

For the fourth year running, the digital radio station is launching a nationwide search to find the best school rock bands in the UK. Bands that enter not only have a chance of being played on Xfm but ultimately could end up playing live on the same bill as their modern day rock heroes!

Bands from up and down the country are being invited to upload a cover version of a classic or current Xfm track to the station's website - any Xfm track from the Rolling Stones to The Stone Roses, The Kinks to The Kooks will be accepted. Bands can also create their own page on the Xfm website, adding photos, biographies, additional music and video footage.

They have until 5pm on Wednesday, November 27, to upload their cover versions at xfm.co.uk/rockschool and then Xfm listeners will vote online for their favourite band.

The top 10 bands will get the chance to be the house band on the breakfast show where they'll be interviewed by Xfm DJ Alex Zane, play live on the show and generally get to act like rock stars!

The top five bands will then play their cover version before a panel of experts during the breakfast show on Friday, December 7, who will decide the overall winner. That band will get to play live alongside a whole host of the country's biggest and best bands at Xfm's Winter Wonderland benefit concert at London's Brixton Academy on December 9.
