A WOMAN campaigning to stop people being "trapped" by divorce solicitors took her battlebus to the Royal High Courts of Justice.

Lucille Turner drove the poster-covered minibus to the highest court in the land and toured the capital in her bid for legal reform.

The 43-year-old from Bournemouth said: "It's where the message has to get through to.

"I did get quite a few interesting looks from legal-looking types outside the court!"

She said the public appeared supportive.

"Lots of people were looking and some were taking pictures and giving thumbs-ups as though they knew exactly what I was on about."

Lucille, a freelance writer from Southbourne, is campaigning for divorce laws to be made more "consumer friendly".

She said her campaign and new website divorce-solicitor-trap.co.uk were taking off, after they were featured in the Daily Echo last month. Lucille said almost 100 people had registered with the site - they included people with legal fees of up to £100,000 and settlements that took 20 years.

"There're people like me who have had a rough time but there's another layer of people, not as many but a significant amount, who have been seriously psychologically affected by the process."

Lucille was also interviewed on London-based, talk radio station Colourful Radio.

The Law Society, which represents solicitors, said it has no policy on the current legal position over divorce, and the Law Commission, the independent body that reviews the law, said it is not currently working on divorce law.
