A PERSON wielding a meat cleaver was reported in Lymington last night.
Police rushed to the High Street in response to the reports at around 10pm.
A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody.
"I can confirm that officers arrested a 45-year-old man in Lymington High Street shortly before 10pm last night (14 February) on suspicion of possessing a bladed article in a public place, namely a meat cleaver.", said a spokesperson for Hampshire Police.
