Funnybone Comedy Club, Centre Stage, Westbourne
PROVIDING top-notch comedy nights on a weekly basis might stretch even the most connected organisation, but Funnybone's Friday nights don't come much stronger than this.
When your opening act is as accomplished and tack-sharp as Canadian Ron Vaudry, you know the standard has been set high and his hilarious observations of our British foibles got tthe night off to a cracking start.
Danny Buckler bounced on stage and bounced off half an hour later having scorched his way around some high original material that included a Phantom Of The Opera tale that would have had Lord Lloyd-Webber choking on his popcorn.
Funnybone favourite Ian Cognito provided his own inimitable edginess and some dark material that provided some genuine shocks.
But whatever journey he's taking you on, you know you're going to be breathless at the end and this great closer was no exception.
