A MAN found dead in his house on New Year's Day died of a drugs overdose, an inquest court has heard.
Ross Harold Barnes, of Blandford Road, Poole, was found at his home address on January 1, 2020, by his daughter and ex-wife.
On Monday (March 30) an inquest into the circumstances surrounding the death of the 36-year-old technician was opened and adjourned at Dorset Coroner's Court, Bournemouth Town Hall.
Reading a statement from coroner's officer Ken McEwan, coroner Brendan Allen said: "Ross Barnes was located deceased on his bed at his home address by his daughter and ex-wife."
Mr Allen also said: "Mr Barnes had been suffering with recurrent depressive disorder and emotionally unstable personality disorder and was under the care of the community mental health team."
Several empty prescription blister packs were also found at the premises.
Dorset Police attended and carried out an investigation. Detectives concluded there were no suspicious circumstances.
A subsequent post mortem examination revealed the cause of death as drugs overdose.
Mr Allen adjourned the inquest for a review hearing, scheduled for the same court in October this year.
