AN ELDERLY woman found unresponsive at her Poole home died of an overdose, an inquest hearing has heard.
Pamela Ann Mulloy, aged 80, died at her home in Barn Road, Broadstone, on December 5, 2019.
On Monday (March 30) at Dorset Coroner's Court, Bournemouth Town Hall, coroner Brendan Allen opened and adjourned an inquest into her death.
Reading from a statement written by coroner's officer Laura Thorne, Mr Allen said: "The deceased was found at her home address by her community nurse who had attended to drain her lung fluid with an occupational therapist.
"They were unable to gain access but could see her on the floor unresponsive."
The pair had attended the address on December 6, 2019.
When paramedics subsequently arrived they gained access using a neighbour's key.
Dorset Police were also called, who investigated and concluded there were no suspicious circumstances.
Mrs Mulloy, who was born in the West Midlands, was widowed.
A post mortem investigation was carried out and the official cause of death was recorded as combined overdose.
Mr Allen adjourned the inquest for a review set for October this year.
