OFFICERS responded to a concern for the welfare of a man who was reported to be in possession of a knife and refusing to leave a caravan.
There were no other occupants inside and a cordon, in Fitzworth Avenue, Poole, was put in place for the safety of the members of the public.
The cordon was removed late on Wednesday and the man was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence.
Police said he was given appropriate medical care.
A post on the Dorset Police Facebook page said: “We would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during this incident.”
