BOURNEMOUTH East MP Tobias Ellwood says the prime minister is both "accessible" and "able to make decisions".
The former defence minister made his comments speaking to Sky News, as Boris Johnson has now spent three nights in intensive care with the coronavirus.
Yesterday (April 9), Mr Ellwood was asked on Kay Burley@Breakfast who would be responsible in the event of another significant challenge.
He replied: "The prime minister is mentally able to make decisions.
"He's accessible as well.
"What we're going through is unorthodox, we've not been here before, but I have been given assurances that the decision-making process can work in this difficult scenario."
