A PRE SCHOOL worker is helping to keep her neighbours fit during the coronavirus lockdown by providing them with keep fit style dance sessions and yoga.
With many vulnerable and elderly individuals living on their street, Mandy Benjafield and her mother Shirley have been hosting daily communal workout session in their cul-de-sac in Poole to help people who are isolating in their homes.
Mandy usually works at a preschool, owned by her sister Debbie, called Down In The Woods in Wimborne, but since the playgroup was forced to close, she has been helping to provide structure to people’s days and supporting her neighbours to stay active.
The pair started their sessions last week and have been hosting them every day every day at around 11am.
A friend of Mandy said: “As they are all on lockdown and some are living alone, this gives them some get up and go during these times.
“They are very keen community people in Upton, Mandy and Shirley. So, doing anything to help the elderly or people in need gives them both great satisfaction.
“This just shows the women she is Mandy, arranging this. Pretty much every house in the cul-de-sac, including a man in a wheelchair who will clap along.”
