POLICE have appealed for help to identify a grinning cyclist after a man threatened to cough on a couple in their 70s.
The couple were walking along a footpath near St Katharine's school in Bournemouth when a cyclist came from the opposite direction and blocked their path.
He then became aggressive and threatened to cough on the victim in the incident, which took place at 10.15am on Thursday April 9 on the footpath between Thornbury Road and Wick Lane at Hengistbury Head.
Police Constable Jessica Richmond, of Bournemouth police, said: “This was a particularly alarming and distressing incident for the victim, in light of the current COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic.
“As part of my enquiries I am releasing an image of a man who I would like to speak to. I would ask anyone who has any information as to his identity to please get in touch.”
