YARRELLS School and Nursery in Poole has been keeping pupils and staff occupied during the coronavirus outbreak, ensuring that fun can still be had during the lockdown.
The school and nursery has been setting daily challenges for their pupils every morning, which have been a highlight to their day for so many.
One of the activities included a camping trip at home on Good Friday, raising vital funds for the NHS coronavirus response staff at Poole Hospital.
The fundraising camping 'trip' entailed staff and pupils either sleeping in tents in their gardens or exciting dens in their lounges, all in aid of Poole Hospital.
A fantastic total of over £1000 was raised in one night.
Head of Yarrells School and Nursery, Sally Weber-Spokes said: "Not only do we know what an enormous effort and sacrifice our NHS staff are making for our community, but we are also looking after the children of key workers at this time and can see the pressure they are under. We wanted to do something to help people get through ‘being at home’ over the Easter weekend as well as raise money for those staff who we know won’t have a break at the moment.
"We were overwhelmed by our school community’s response; it’s brought us all together and allowed our pupils to have fun with their families, too. We are so grateful to those who have donated - thank you."
