EFFORTS by residents across Dorset to follow government orders to stay at home are waning slightly, according to data released by Google.
The company has released its latest COVID-19 Community Mobility Report, which attempts to show how people are responding to social distancing guidance.
The report, which covers up until Sunday, April 5, shows that mobility across five areas was up in Dorset compared to the previous week.
The findings for Dorset in the latest publication are as follows (the data in the report from the previous week):
- Retail and recreation: Mobility down 84 per cent compared to baseline (down 87 per cent)
- Grocery and pharmacy: Mobility down 44 per cent compared to baseline (down 47 per cent)
- Parks: Mobility down 43 per cent compared to baseline (down 57 per cent)
- Transit stations: Mobility down 63 per cent compared to baseline (down 70 per cent)
- Workplaces: Mobility down 55 per cent compared to baseline (down 57 per cent)
- Residential: Mobility up 15 per cent compared to baseline (up 15 per cent)
Dorset remains largely in line with mobility trends for the United Kingdom, except parks are down just 29 per cent compared to the baseline nationally as of April 5 and transit stations are down 70 per cent.
