THE person who wrote to say that the cemetery should be open to visitors has clearly not understood the lockdown rules.

One must not leave the house except for essential journeys, eg shopping for food, medicines etc and to exercise close to home.

His argument that people have travelled there is not a valid excuse.

I hope I'm not seen as being disrespectful to the dead and their loved ones, but the graves will still be there after the lockdown and can be visited at a more appropriate time.

This has to be seen in the context of thousands of bereaved friends and family that cannot even attend the funeral of their loved ones.
